Pretty little wallet

I made a quick shop sample this morning; this pretty little wallet. It isn't fancy, but I like the way the fabric worked out. I centered the motifs. It is the same fabric line as my Birdie Sling. It's a little hard to tell from the angle of this photo, but the sides do curve in. The pattern is a Valori Wells Sewing Card (available, of course, at the shop and featured in the upcoming gift fair). The only downside is that the fusible Velcro isn't sticking as well as I'd like it to. It's very humid here, and I wonder if that's not affecting it. Any ideas?

  1. VERY cool! There's a trick to that fusible velcro and I'll be darned if I can remember what it is. It's the newer fusible which is a HUGE improvement over the old stuff. Take a look at the package, see if there are any tips on it, and I'll try to remember. I do know that you have to get it SERIOUSLY hot! :-)

  3. I'm sure you could, Amy. You'd just have to put it on before you sewed everything together.

The update, though, is that it seems to be stuck on well now. I did two things. One is that I rounded the corners of the velcro (the loop side that wasn't adhering). The other is that it needed to be pressed for 60 (yes, six-zero) seconds. And the loopy part didn't melt!
